WHAT IS PRP?
PRP, which is short for platelet-rich plasma, is a treatment method that has been used in different areas for approximately 20 years. Although its effect on healing is controversial, the PRP method, which plays an effective role in reducing complaints, is now also used in muscles, tendons and joints. The purpose of the PRP method used in orthopedic treatments is to ensure platelet density from the blood taken, to activate hormones such as growth hormone and to ensure healing by creating an inflammatory condition in the joint. It is an ideal method for patients who use enough medication for joint pain but do not want to undergo surgery. Since it is an ingredient obtained from the person's own blood, the possibility of allergy and complications is very low.
