BURSA INFLAMMATION OF INTERNAL SHOULDER

BURSA INFLAMMATION OF INTERNAL SHOULDER

It is the inflammation of the intra-articular sac called bursa. Inflammations of the bursa, which causes pain and limitation of movement, are generally seen after compression due to the beak-shaped shape of the shoulder roof bone (acromion bone), and after activities performed above the shoulder level, sports activities and falls.

Complaint
Restriction of movement and pain in the shoulder are at the forefront. With the formation of a mass within the shoulder that restricts movement, it may cause the head of the shoulder to get stuck between the shoulder roof and difficulty in lifting the arm up.
Examination
Due to restricted shoulder movements, the movement cannot be completed when the arm is lifted up. Pain occurs at the head of the shoulder and prevents movement.
Diagnosis
A preliminary diagnosis can be made through examination after a detailed conversation with the patient. If the complaint does not go away, help can be obtained from imaging methods such as x-ray or magnetic resonance.
Treatment
The treatment process begins with rest and cold application and also painkillers are used to relieve pain. Shoulder activity is restricted with the help of an arm sling. If the complaints do not decrease, cortisone injection or PRP is applied into the joint. If the complaint does not decrease with the help of physical therapy, arthroscopic surgery can be performed.
